"Standardisation is becoming a way of life worldwide and is an important aspect in business and consumer concerns. Its significance has been increasingly recognised within our country as well. Ean India, an affliate of Ean International helps in standardizing the systems of numbering in our country.

Within specific industry sectors like FMCGs, retail etc, the importance of bar coding and RFID is widely acknowledged. These technologies are able to address critical issues such as consumer safety & security, wastage control in supply chain and higher efficiency in the industry. They are also able to cater to consumer concerns & expectations while facilitating national and international requirements of regulators and buyers.

"Internet is a means of communicating across the world and almost instantly to all stakeholders. In our case it assumes added importance by virtue of our international involvement in development and communication of electronic messaging standards, which use Internet as the backbone network for dissemination of information. In the emerging electronic product code based RFID technology and the EPC global network, internet would again be the key means for transmitting mission critical information on goods and services across the world as they transit through global supply chain.

"Public administration interests me a lot. There is a lot of scope for improvement in our public utility system. There is a need of greater public involvement and awareness in formulation of government policies. There should be more transparency in public spending. I also like to keep abreast on national and international news both from political and business angle.
