"Whereas the opening of the world economy has placed a requirement to provide boxes of better quality on the Indian corrugators, the resultant competition has also put a continued pressure on the price. To survive and grow in the present scenario, he has to upgrade to high-speed machines that give more production at lesser cost at the same time improving on the quality of the box and the printing. The imported equipment turns out to be uneconomical in price. There is an opportunity for the Indian manufacturer of corrugated equipment to brush up their act and make available world-class equipment at realistic prices in India.

"Internet opens up the world market on your desktop. You cannot only access complete information about the products available in the world; you can also follow and discern trends. It can also be an important marketing tool. While we do have corporate web sites for our company, I think we are still underutilising its capabilities.

"I have been a sports freak all my life. Even today outdoor sports is my great love, second only to my work. Of course, with time I have moved from Cricket and Basketball to Golf and I spend most of my weekends on the green."
