Canon rolls out an expanded colour and monochrome production range





Canon Europe unveiled its strategic approach to the professional digital print market which is aimed at significantly increasing its current market share and profile. It is seeking to consolidate its position in Corporate printing, by achieving a dominant position in the Professional print market.

Canon`s aim is to become the preferred business partner to the professional digital print industry through the provision of consultancy, software and print devices. At drupa 2004 it is showcasing the CLC 3200. CLC 3200 is Short Run Colour and Light Production printer that can manage 5000 to 25000 prints per month, Matt and glossy output on a wide range of substrates that is designed to give a fast return on a low investment.

The CLC 4000/5100 has premium production capability and connects to graphic arts workflows through state of the art front end controller range. Also to be showcased are its large format colour print devices such as W 6200. The iR 110 known for its versatility is a high volume, production black and white system that has been highly successful commercially and has won the BERTL award. Specialist devices such as P-660OC Card Printer and the CX 350 Card Printer will also be displayed. Software (EFI, GretagMacbeth) will facilitate Digital Production Workflow process, Job Submission and Customer Interaction and Colour management.

The new Canon`s Business Solutions (CBS) arm will offer expert consultancy services to add value and support core print business processes in the form of Canon Business Intelligence (CBi) propositions. CBi is a collection of complete solution offerings that include consultative and maintenance services, the most appropriate software applications and hardware devices. CBi propositions are developed to improve customers` businesses by identifying and focusing on improving key process areas. The result is printers` improved customer interaction, production productivity and cost saving.
