The upgraded Gallus EM 280 has flexible technology. UV-Flexo, WB-Flexo, rotary screen, hot foil stamping units are all interchangeable on any printing unit base station within the press. “Plug and Print” technology allows changing the printing head within one minute without any tools.

Hiedelberg India has sold over 15 of these presses in the last couple of years. The latest installation took place at the New Delhi factory of Syndicate Labels. “This is the first of the new model sold into India that has newly designed quick change print units, an IST UV station, LCD touch panels, improved servo drives for register control and motorised register control,” says Samir Patkar of Heidelberg India.

Says Ajay Aggarwal at Syndicate Labels, “We have had previous experience with Gallus. Three machines are operating at our Dubai operations. We basically make Self- adhesive labels for pharma, oil, and FMCG companies. We are seeing our markets grow and now want to move into the production of higher quality labels. We are also targeting better productivity as well as hoping to move into niche areas.” The Galus 280 joins an existing 8 Colour Mark Andy 2200 in Aggarwal’s factory in New Delhi.

Heidelberg India is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Germany, with its head office situated in Chennai and branches in Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata. Last year, it had sold six presses in the Indian market, a record that is likely to be equalled again this year, according to Patkar.
