Sirpur Paper to Concentrate on Basics Post Expansion
Sirpur Paper plans to focus on its niche segments of paper even after its recent rounds of expansion. The company will be pitched among the second batch of paper producers in the country after it is through with its Rs 294-crore expansion-cum-modernisation drive which is likely to be accomplished by September 2006.
In line with the expansion, the paper production capacity of the company’s plant in Adilbad district of Andra Pradesh will go up from 83,550 tpa to 138,300 tpa.
``We do not want to match capacities with larger paper companies. We would focus on niche segments of paper as it also insulates us from the commodity cycle in paper,’’ said the company’s Chairman, Ranjan Poddar in an interview to a newspaper.
