Rexam is to close its Bowling Green, Ohio plastic packaging plant after recent acquisitions have led to a consolidation of facilities.
The plant, which manufactures injection moulded plastic closures, is currently scheduled for closure in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Production will be absorbed by other Rexam facilities.
Approximately 134 people are employed at the plant. All of those affected will receive a severance package and provided with outplacement assistance.
Rexam Plastic Packaging group director Graham Chipchase said the aim of the closure was to 'align our manufacturing capabilities across our plastic division in the US and the world'.
