Mega Portals Fuel Fresh Initiative For Search Technology
To offer search on printed material and products

Search technology biggie, Google, recently announced an offline initiative – Google print experiment. It is about ``indexing excerpts of popular books and funneling printed material into regular online searches.``

The move is a clear response to e-commerce superstore Amazon.com`s action on A9 to invest and develop e-commerce search technologies. According to the site, ``A9 will be a new separately branded and operated company. The goal is to invent and develop the best e-commerce search technology.``

The launch of A9 follows mega portal Yahoo rolling out a product search feature that lets users compare products by price and obtain information ob shipping and handling, as well as product reviews.
