Meena Agencies to get narrow web flexo press from Nilpeter

The now-on-now-off deal between Meena Agencies and Nilpeter saw its culmination at Labelexpo Europe 2002. The Hall No. 7 of the Expo echoed with the customary buzzer on the first day of the show itself to announce the deal.
Nirav Thakkar of Meena Agencies was in Brussels to finalise the order for the FA 2500 flexo rotary screen press. The industry circles have been abuzz about the deal for some time and the deal should have been signed long ago. It was delayed because of second thoughts on part of Meena Agencies, who are entering the field of label printing for the first time.
Meena Agencies are among the leaders in the field of Greeting Cards in India and have been in the business for over 40 years. ``There has been a growing demand for self-adhesive labels and we have been aware about it. We wanted to do some independent research before we finalised the purchase. After all, we are purchasing a top of the end Machine,`` justifies Nirav.
The Nilpeter FA-2500 is a state-of-the-art flexo press with a web width of 280-mm (10``). This highly versatile 8 colour machine can print from 30 micron films to 300 gsm boards. It incorporates Nilpeter Green Line System (GLS) environmental innovations, such as ozone-free, exhaustless UV-curing and individually adjustable UV-lamp intensity. It is GLS-features such as these that enable the FA-2500 to perform at offset quality. Additional features include optimum roller geometry, easy adjustment of print and simple exchange of rollers and plate cylinders.
Having signed on the dotted line, Nirav is now impatient to have the Machine. They have formed a new company called Meena Print Pack (P) Limited, which will be printing Labels. He expects the delivery and installation of the Nilpeter Machine in their Kandivili works in January 2002. His company has identified the demand among the food, Oil and Liquor industries for their labels.
