KPG gears up for drupa 2004
New solutions in plates, proofing and digital printing to be showcased
Leading solutions provider, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), announced its range of products scheduled for launch at drupa 2004 in May (Stand 5D24). The Company expects that the products will bring new business opportunities to customers at all stages along the adoption of digital workflows with further plate, proofing and systems product launches, including additions to the plate solutions range for the commercial, packaging and newspaper markets.
KPG announced the expansion of its thermal plate range with the launch of the company`s first no process plate - KPG Thermal Direct Non Process Plate - to be introduced commercially at drupa 2004. With the elimination of processing, the non-process plate technology brings significant streamlining benefits to production workflows. The new plate, based on fourth generation technology, is designed to help small-to-medium-sized general commercial printers improve their working environments by eliminating all costs associated with plate processing and the requirement to store, use and dispose of associated chemicals. Elimination of the traditional processing stage, also shortens the plate making cycle, reduces time to press and increases production throughput possibilities.
At drupa 2004, KPG will demonstrate the second-generation of its award winning, SWOP-certified, monitor proofing system - Matchprint Virtual Proofing System - for installation directly into the pressroom. The Proofing System creates a completely digital workflow that allows virtual proofing to extend beyond agencies, creatives and prepress to the printer.
KPG will also launch a new colour management system for print and publishing that enables customers to easily automate critical colour management operations from capture to output and benefit from efficiency-based cost savings and higher image quality. The Color Fidelity System is composed of three modules designed to provide easy to achieve high quality colour transformation of digital image files and ensure predictable colour from image capture to print and digital media. A combination of the three modules can be selected depending on the user`s requirements. The three modules are automated conversion to selected colour space, dynamic visualization during colour editing and accurate colour conversion of pages with ROOM (Rip Once, Output Many).
Ideal for graphic arts professionals, such as photographers, designers, publishers, pre-media houses and printers who need to capture, view, and reproduce accurate high quality colour for print, Color Fidelity System is complementary to most popular graphic arts software and provides a consistent method for the proofing and communication of both RGB and CMYK files.
