JK Paper Announces New Expansion Plan
All set to become a Rs 1,000-crore company by 2008
Delhi based J K Paper is all set to take its expansion programme to the next phase as the current round of expansion is in progress. The company is planning to double its paper production capacity by adding another half a million tones in just five years.
This time the expansion will extend the four business lines paper industry, namely maplitho, copier paper, coated paper and multilayered packaging boards.
Harish Pati Singhania, managing director of J K Paper, said, “At present we are concentrating on expansion into the paperboard category but we have started looking at the next phase where the scale of expansion would be much larger. The idea is to concentrate in segments which are growing at rates above the industry average and which hold potential.”
J K Paper had recently entered the coated paper market are now moving into multilayered packaging board segment. Both the industry segments are part of the premium end of the market and are clocking higher than average growth rate in demand. With this new investment and growth plan it is expected that by June-July 2008, it will become a Rs, 1000-crore plus company.
