Interlabels sets up a Joint Venture in Kenya
Indian label printer eyes global markets
Interlabels Industries (P) Ltd. has been exporting to the east African market for the past few years and has been receiving a positive response from customers. Keeping in mind the potential Interlabels decided to have a presence there.
The joint venture is planned to cater to the African market mostly East, Central and West Africa. Interlabels realised that western countries and South Africa are servicing most of these areas. In order to make the most of this opportunity it has set up a joint venture to the tune of INR 50 million.
Says Gautam Kothari, Director, “There was a requirement of a quality manufacturer. As we compare with the best in the industry we decided to fulfil this need.” Interlabels hopes that this will lead it towards becoming a regional player in the pressure sensitive labels market in Africa.
“The joint venture in Kenya is one of our first steps towards our entry in to the western markets,” says Gautam about his company’s long-term plans.
