India Label Show 2002 to be held in Mumbai
Inaugural International Exhibition and Conference for the labeling and converting industry

Print-Packaging.com has recently formed a new company with the specific objective of promoting the label industry in India. Label Expositions (P) Ltd., the new company, will disseminate information about the developments in this industry by holding exhibitions and conferences in the country. The new company will work closely with the industry, associations and institutes active in this field.
The inaugural international exhibition and conference of the company is planned to be held in Mumbai from 22nd- 24th November 2002 at the Nehru Centre and is called the India Label Show 2002. The Asian Packaging Federation, The SIES School of Packaging/ Packaging Technology centre and the Holograph Manufacturers Association of India have extended support. Leading Indian and International companies that provide machines, materials, services and technology for the labeling industry are expected to participate.
Road shows coupled with technical seminars will be held in various Indian cities as a run up to the event. The major industry players in the region will contribute to these seminars which will be co-ordinated by The APF. These seminars will be intended for the label printers and converters, industry suppliers and label users. ``This will be essentially an awareness and educational campaign that should ensure a good visitor turnout to the main show,`` says Neetu Arora on behalf of the organisers.
The India Label Show 2002 will be supported by an International conference. The conference will be organised by The Asia Packaging Federation (APF). This will be an event to look forward to by the labeling fraternity.
Speaking about the conference, P V Narayanan, Secretary General of The APF said that ``the dynamics within the industry is seeing more and more types and varieties of labels making effective contribution towards consumer education and protection as well as product quality and quantity assurance. We will focus on the growth of the label industry and assess the latest materials, technology developments and trends in India and the world at the conference.``
