GIDUE and Siemens announce technical partnership to launch the new E-Combat line
Unveiling at Labelexpo Europe in September

GIDUE, the Italian manufacturer of rotary printing presses, and Siemens, the biggest supplier of electric components in the world, announce a technical partnership to develop a new series of presses called the E-Combat line. The E-Combat will be unveiled at the LabelExpo Europe show in Brussels in September 2003 and it will enhance the proven servo-drive concepts of the existing Combat presses. The relationship between GIDUE and Siemens has already proven to be successful, as all the Combat lines are entirely supplied with Siemens components (PLC, motors, switches). Dr. Olaf Ratjen of Siemens, claims, ``GIDUE is a perfect partner to develop new technologies: the company is passionate, innovative and with a high level of hardware and software skills. We believe that the technical cooperation between GIDUE and Siemens will bring benefits also to the rotary narrow web industry``. Several reasons lead GIDUE to choose Siemens as a partner: Being an all-round supplier Siemens matches the GIDUE concept of Standardisation. One single source for all the components reduces the number of errors due to incompatible communications etc. GIDUE service network and the worldwide presence of Siemens are well integrated. Customers can locally get quick deliveries of most of the electric and electronic parts that are used on the Combat presses. Tele-servicing is 100 per cent effective. Being all the electric and electronic parts supplied by one single source, GIDUE and Siemens will develop a program which allows to control from Italy every function of the press, getting on demand instant ``pictures`` of the press at any time, making remote diagnostics and servicing a reality.
