A Rs 6mn state-of-the-art flexible packaging plant, owned by the Dharmpal Satyapal Group, is scheduled to be commissioned from next month at Guwahati.
The 400 MT capacity plant, equipped with the latest technology machines, is installed for the first time in the country by an Italian firm.
The flexible packaging unit will manufacture laminates and pouches used for packing a wide range of consumer products like food items, soaps and shampoos.
The plant to employ over 200 local people, is expected to largely benefit the growing tea industry in the state and provide opportunity for developing consumer industries in the nearby areas.
