Digital Flexo Now in India
First CDI (CTP) installed at Numex Blocks
Recently, the first CDI (CTP) for Flexo was installed at Numex Blocks (I) Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. According to Nitin Patil, Director Numex Blocks, ''This is an important decision we have taken because conventional Flexo has reached its peak and printers are now looking to compete with Gravure and Offset. With the digital technology from Barco and plate support from DuPont, this is now a reality. This is especially important to Narrow web printers who compete with Letterpress and offset and wide web printers who compete with Gravure.’’
Apart from eliminating films, digital plates help in reducing set up times helping printers to reduce wastages. The CDI Spark is capable of engraving a 25''x30'' plate. Combined with the Packedge(TM) front end from Barco, it is now possible to have multiple screening in the same job.
