Creo unveils Prinergy Powerpack 2.1 and iQsmart at Pack Expo 2002
Tools save time on packaging production
Creo Inc., a world leader in solutions for the graphic arts industry, has introduced consumer product companies to the Creo tools for collaboration, automation, efficient print production, and quality imaging at Pack Expo 2002 in Chicago. Mar Vanover, Director of Marketing for packaging says that Creo is letting consumer product companies know how they can benefit from digital technologies by differentiating their product packaging from competitors using tools from the company.
Creo is displaying the Synapse® InSite Internet portal that shrinks the length of production cycles by allowing online collaboration between consumer product companies and the trade shops or converters preparing their packaging. This powerful workflow management software allows users to submit jobs and proof them remotely. From wherever customers and service reps have access to the Internet, they can submit print jobs, track progress, proof, collaborate with creative and production staff on changes, receive up-to-minute job information, and approve work—all on-line and in a secure environment. The latest version, Prinergy Powerpack 2.1, includes new features for flexography, including vector distortion and 7.5° screening; enhanced trapping and color management features. The workflow also integrates the Pandora® packaging and label step-and-repeat solution, using JDF (Job Definition Format) data to transfer step-and-repeat information and job data to the Prinergy Powerpack workflow. Synapse InSite integrates seamlessly with Prinergy Powerpack™ workflow, the PDF-based workflow management system for packaging that streamlines and organizes prepress production for converters, trade shops and consumer product companies. Prinergy Powerpack streamlines, automates and adds value to packaging-file production for offset, flexographic and gravure trade shops and converters.
The new iQsmart™ flatbed scanners from Creo produce high-quality color scans in-house. With productivity ranging from 30-45 scans per hour, iQsmart scanners deliver sharp resolution, consistent sharpness and quality, regardless of the original`s size.
