Budget FY 2003- Flexible Packaging industry fortunes unaffected by the budget
With no changes in the duty structures, the BOPP and Polyester film manufacturers are neutral to the budget. The laminated tubes manufactures are in the same position. However, companies like Cosmo Films and Essel Packaging that have several investment plans in the current year may get some benefit of the increased depreciation of 15%. Also the dividend paying companies will have the marginal gains from exemption of payment of taxes on dividends.
