Bar Coding and Radio Frequency to Come Under Technology Upgradation Fund
The move will push up textile exports
The Ministry of Textile is planning to bring bar-coding and radio frequency technologies under the ambit of the Technology Upgradation Fund (TUF) which gives interest subsidies on loans used for technology up gradation in the sector. This, once comes in to force, will give a fillip to the textile exports.
A detailed meeting of the textile ministry with the leading textile exporters and others associated with the industry took place recently to work out the modalities of bringing bar coding under TUF schemes.
In an interview to a newspaper a senior official from the Ministry of Textiles said,`` We are actively considering to bring bar coding under TUF. Bar coding is our first concern and we will look in to radio frequency subsequently.’’
