A New Coating For JK Paper
Coating paper adds to the growth
JK Paper Ltd is set to commercialize its coating paper plant at its existing facilities at Rayagada in Orrisa by the end of this year. Initially the plan was to sell 45000 tonne of coated paper a year.
JK Paper`s entry in margins- rich coated paper segment puts the company in direct competition with Bilt, the only Indian manufacturer with control over nearly half the market while the remaining addressed by imports. Industry estimates put the coated paper market at around .25 million tonne a year in volumes and rupees 10000 million a year in value. The category commands premium and is currently sells at around rupees 500000 million a tonne. The growth of coated paper and photocopying paper is 15% a year as compared to 6-7% growth of the overall paper industry which makes it the fastest growing segment. The company has intensified the brand building and trade interaction programs and now the distributors are looking forward to the coating paper product.
JK Paper is currently holding a 13- town road show to push its new offering Savanna, a stationery paper for the retail segment and also seek feedback for its future rollouts.
