AEW Delford Systems Opens Colchester Plant

AEW Delford Systems, the food processing and packaging machinery manufacturer, has opened a new facility in Colchester.

AEW, part of Icelandic firm Marel Food Systems, moved to the £1.8m plant as part of its business development plan. The 11,000sq m site will employ 119 staff to produce a range of machines including checkweighers and labellers.

Managing director David Ashmore said the facility would provide the necessary technology to design and produce machines and systems to higher standards with greater efficiency.

AEW has retained its plant in Norwich for the production of food slicing and batching systems.

AEW Delford Systems is the result of the merger between AEW Engineering and Thurne Engineering in 1999. It became part of Marel Food Systems in 2006.
